Tap Water Has Been Left Behind

Whilst the quality of bottled drinks is checked and monitored around the clock, tap water has been left behind. The standards in force today for drinking water quality are insufficient in light of the accumulated knowledge we have in the field - and as a result many lack faith in the quality of tap water. The government must adopt legislation and new standards for a continuous monitoring system

Water "Fingerprints" Will Enable Detection of the Contamination Source

While fingerprints and DNA are commonly used to catch criminals, a data bank of 'water fingerprints' is now being developed to locate the source of water contamination. The Mekorot Water Company has begun using a new system developed in Israel that can detect water contamination, store data that will detect the water source – and thus enable faster and more efficient location of the contamination

Every Cubic Meter is important": Galcon Decreased Water Leakage in Haifa by 30%
|

An end to water leaks in cities: Every year Israel's water economy loses around 140 million cubic meters of water due to leaks occurring in municipal water systems. Galcon, part of the Whitewater Group, is currently compiling the results of a first-in-kind pilot aimed at tackling this problem. Results for the test system in Haifa show a 30% reduction in water leakage.

The regulations and standardization of drinking water monitoring in Israel are not updated

Ori Yogev, Chairman and partner in Whitewater - a company that supplies monitors for drinking water, explains why Israeli citizens are exposed to contaminated drinking water and calls on the government to force corporate water companies to monitor the drinking water on a regular basis. Ori, who was in charge of budgets in the Israeli Finance Ministry and the Prime Minister's adviser, believes that the water in Israel is still relatively inexpensive.
